2007 Runtime licensing

Hi,

Can anyone clarify the licensing requirements for the Access 2007 runtime?
Can I develop an application in Access 2002 or 2003 and distribute it using
the 2007 runtime? Or do I have to use Access 2007 to develop the app? What
if I owned a copy of Access 2007 but used 2003 to develop my app? Would I
still be licensed to run with the free 2007 runtime?

Perhaps someone from Microsoft Legal will answer, as I'm not a lawyer (and
not from MS.)

You can create an MDB or MDE using Access 2000, 2002, or 2003. Then if you
also own Access 2007, you can download the runtime and distribute your
database royalty free. Get the runtime from:
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/...D9-9DC6-4B38-9FA6-2C745A175AED&displaylang=en

You won't be able to create the runtime without having A2007 on your
computer.

The A2007 runtime installer renames your MDB/MDE file, and it works in my
experience, though I don't think MS guarantees that it will. My databases
usually use just 3 library references (Access, VBA, and DAO), and avoid
known compatibility issues.
