I have my old copy of millennium edition and need to run a word program seeing xp home doesn't have one with spell check, on it. Can i download the word program off the ME cd and install it without ruining xp
HELP please.

The ME CD doesn't have WORD. But if you're too cheap to buy
WORD or find the WORD or OFFICE CD that you used to install
WORD on your ME machine.

You can download OPEN OFFICE from www.openoffice.org

What Word program do you think is on the ME CD?
Windows ME did have a word procesor besides notepad but it didn't spell
check as far as I can remember.
Is the CD your trying to install off of an OEM CD that came with the
computer?
If it is and your still using the same computer then sue you can but it may
or may not be compatible with XP.

The ME CD does not have Word either - just WordPad, and a version of
that is in XP anyway. You need either a copy of MS Office, or of MS
Works, or of a third party word processor like Open Office if you are to
have a word processor with spell check
