Running windows defender

What is the file name for manually running windows defender? I used to run it
but have forgotten the name. It is ?,exe. TIA

MsMpEng.exe

Turns out sometime in the past I must have removed it but I didn't recall
doing that. Reinstalled the newer version and it works fine. Like the new
interface. Funny thing though, I find malware with Adaware, Spybot S&D, but
have never found any with windows defender.
Thanks for the response.

Are you sure your installation of Windows Defender is working correctly? You
might be well advised to test Defender's detection of the harmless EICAR test
file to be sure:

http://www.eicar.org/anti_virus_test_file.htm

Note that you'll probably have to disable your installed real-time Antivirus
during the test because Antivirus programs also will pick up the EICAR file,
usually before Defender will detect it. People using Defender should know
what a WD detection looks like, and be sure their protection is proactive.

Yep, I am no expert but build my own PC's and decided to run WD. I had the
older version and now recall what I think was the file name. If I remember
correctly it was mre.exe.
I keep everything updated and Avast jumps all over the eicar while
downloading, so it would never let most virus's or worms get downloaded.
I also run Spyblaster, Adaware, and Spybot S&D in tea timer mode.
I installed the new version of Defender on 2 PC's and it runs fine but like
the old version didn't detect anything. This may be due to me running the
other Malware detection software software regularly.
Thanks for your response.
