Running Win 98 programs on XP

Right click on the program icon, choose properties and then the
compatability tab. Then run it under win98.
 
First thing: A lot of Windows 98 programs run correctly "straight" out in
XP (no compatability mode) required. It would help if you were to list out
the name of the program you are having problems with.
 
The Compatability tab thing didn't work. The program is a 'car technical
system' on disc (haynes maual).
When you load it, you get a message 'not suitable for running MS-DOS and
microsoft windows appications.
