running videos in presentation

I have copied my presentation to a cd including the
individual video files and can't get them to run on a
laptop. When trying to run them individually in Windows
media player, I get a message that says some of
the "codecs" are missing. Is this an issue of not having
enough memory or what?

Depending on the source of the video files, proprietary codecs may have been
used to compress the files and the laptop doesn't have the codec installed.

Try putting the video files into folders and then burning the folders onto cd. It worked for me.
