running scandisk

I think you put the scandisk.exe in the startup folder


You can run chkdsk under the C:/ prompt or go into
C:/Properties and under the tools tab, hit check now under
Error-checking. It will then tell you it will check the
disk on the next boot. Doing it under the C:/ prompt is
alot easier and faster though. Hope this helps and I the
very definiton of newbie.

P.S. Under the C:/ prompt the command is chddsk
