Does any one know what the run command is to remove
programs actively running at start up. I mean those icons
at the bottom right of the screen. Those are actively
running programs. For 98 the command was wnconfig. That
doesn't work for XP. Also I see Ctrl Alt Delete does not
bring up the screen showing acitvely running programs. It
brings up the task manager. How do you get these programs
not to start up to reduce the amount of RAM being used.

On each program you don't want to start automatically, check its
Options to see if it has the choice not to start. Many can easily
and best be stopped that way. If that doesn't work, run MSCONFIG
from the Start | Run line, and on the Startup tab, uncheck the
programs you don't want to start automatically.
