Running Programs do not appear on TaskBar

Seems I did some crazy mouse clicking and somehow all running programs no
longer appear on the Taskbar.
I have the "Quick Launch" tool bar turned on so at first the taskbar looks
normal YET when I start programs they do not appear and hence there goes the
easy switching (yes I'm using Alt+Tab for now).

ALSO if I turn off the quick launch toolbar off then the taskbar completely
disappears.

HELP!!!
