Running Processes

My computer is running very slow - so I ran AdAware SE and noticed
that I have 47 running processes (whatever they are). Maybe that's
the reason for the slow pace. Where can I find these running processes
and which ones are not necessary? I'm new at this, so be kind.

That isn't the cause of your computer running slow. No matter how many
running processes you see, only one is in control of the cpu at a given
time. The rest are just sitting around waiting for work to do.

Errr, you gave a fact; but, what's he supposed to do with that info? Did
