running out of space

i have downloaded windows xp prof on drive c and almost
out of room.....less then 200 mb left. i want to either
unistall windows xp or install on drive d where i have
more room. i dont know how to unistall windows xp....some
one please help

Bob ... first of all, when you say 'drive d' do you mean you have a
separate physical hard drive? Or is 'drive d' a separate partition on
your 'one and only' drive? If the latter, you can use third party
programs to 're-size' partitions (Partition Magic and BootIt NG come to
mind).

Secondly, you don't want to uninstall XP and install on another
partition (if you can help it) as you will have boot problems as well
as other situations.

If 'drive d' has plenty of space, and you don't want to re-size, you
might try using the TweakUI Power Toy
http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/pro/downloads/powertoys.asp
to transfer some locations from C: to D: ... eg My Documents, My Photos,
My Music, etc. In the TweakUI menus, see, 'My Computer', 'Special
Folders' for those items which can be re-located.

Or ... it might be time to consider buying a new and larger hard drive,
prices have come way down.
