Create a shortcut for Outlook in the STARTUP folder of the Start Menu.

Yout might take a look at 'Outlock' ... Runs from the system tray and loads
just enough of Outlook so that you get new message notifications and
reminders. Pop-up menu lets you open main folders and quickly create new
items. Free.
