Running at start up?

I installed the new Beta 2 Defender. Is there supposed to be an icon in the
tray to show that the protection is running or does it run in the background
with no indicator on the desktop?

The system runs as a service, at startup. By default, nothing is shown in
the notification area unless user action is needed--definitions out of date,
no scan in some period of time, something found on a scheduled scan, etc.

If you go to Tools, Options, and scroll way down, there's an option to
change this default.
