Running Access application in a language different than the original one

I have developped an MS Access application on an
XP/Office 2002 English-language environment. When I try
to run it on a portuguese OS/Office environment I
sometimes face problems, like the application freezing.
Can anyone tell me whether this is due to any type of DLL
mismatching? If so, which ones are potentially involved?
 
It could simply be date/time settings (they aren't the same as the UK or US
settings)
