The message "run-time error 6 overflow" keeps popping up on my computer.
Could anyone please tell me what this means and how to resolve it? Is it
dangerous to my computer? I am not at all technically inclined.

thank you,

Answered in another newsgroup. Please do not send the same message
separately to more than one newsgroup (called multiposting). Doing so
just fragments the thread, so someone who answers in one newsgroup
doesn't get to see answers from others in another newsgroup. And for
those who read all the newsgroups the message is multiposted to, they
see the message multiple times instead of once (they would see it only
once if you correctly crossposted instead). This wastes everyone's
time, and gets you poorer help than you should get.

If you must send the same message to more than one newsgroup, please
do so by crossposting (but only to a *few* related newsgroups).

Please see "What is the accepted way to share a message across
multiple newsgroups?" at http://smjg.port5.com/faqs/usenet/xpost.html

so sorry, my first time on a newsgroup. The first posting I thought was going
to the individual only; I didn't realize it was being posted to the newsgroup
as a whole. Certainly didn't intend to waste anyone's time.

Not a giant problem Judy, and now you'll know better for next time.

The issue isn't just wasting our time, but primarily of fragmenting
the thread. That can mean you get poorer help than you should.

What's the history of the problem Judy? Did this just start? What
software/hardware changes were made right before it started? What software
is installed? When does this message appear? After running any particular
program?

Ok, I didn't see the other posts by you and Ken until after I sent mine.
Disregard it.

No, you asked good questions. She should think about what changes
she's made recently. There's never a problem with someone else jumping
into a thread to help. One of us may mention something that the other
didn't think of, etc.
