Go, David..... <w>

/f stands for FIX.

Type in Start Run
cmd /k chkdsk /?

Suggest you read "all" of the screen, to the very bottom. It clearly tells
you what to do. If after running "chkdsk :c /f" (or whatever drive you want
to check), and reading to the end, you do not understand the presented two
options, post back.

Well, I didn't see your reply here before I posted, but I think I stated it
more lady-like! :o)

Why don't you read the f*cking screen.

Well it needed to be said. It so simple, it's in black and white in front of him. [This is what I wanted to say]
He should give up using chkdsk as it's far beyond him.
1/ There is no reason to run chkdsk (it will run automatically if needed), and there are reasons not to run it (it may delete all your disk).
2/ If he must run it then right click a drive in My Computer, Properties, Tools, Check Now and READ the f*cking messages.

My mum sold her old computer to her friend. Me mum (that's an ozzie english), her friend (an ex word processing trainer), and I (back to RP english) were there. There was a problem connecting to the internet. The computer kept telling us the problem but mum would keep closing the dialog box that was telling us what it was unhappy about. With both me and her friend screaming at her "read the message". Eventually mum managed not to close the dialog (although I think we had to hold her down to stop her) and we read the message. It took 10 minutes to stop mum closing the dialog. The dialog said the ISP was having technical problems and it was refusing connections for a while.

True and <LOL>! Just gotta love our mums. <w>

And did you tell your mum to "Read the f*cking dialog"? I doubt it.

The person you replied to above deserved the same restraint you
presumably gave your mum.

A person can't read 10-12 lines of text, especially when it explains the
options? I see you didn't offer any help what-so-ever!

Maybe not but he said he thought they had to hold her down.

The restraint apparently had to be applied to his mum. What's he gonna
do, reach throught the monitor and grab the guy?
