Often I receive the following error message "Rules in error" "Don't have
appropriate permission the run this task" I have to go into Tools, Rules
Wizard to recheck (turn on) this rule again and then run a manual rules
search to filter out unwanted mail. ANY IDEAS!!

Thanks Sheri

What particular rule is involved? Are you working from an Exchange mailbox or a .pst file?

Thanks Sue for responding. I am working with a .pst file and these are rules
that I created to filter incoming email to different folders, ie family,
misc, accounts or "gone for good" which deletes junk mail without seeing
them. After receiving the error message, going into Rules Wizard, turning
the rule back on and running it manually it completes the filter. It's just
a pain to have to go in and do it manually. Thanks for any help!! Sheri

Try starting Outlook with the /safe switch. If the rules work OK under that scenario, we can pursue what might be blocking them in the normal mode.
