Rules for sent items

Marty

Hi all

Can someone please advise how I create a rule that will automatically send
my out going (sent) mail to a specific folder. Currently they all remain in
the sent items until I select "run rules now" and then select them all.

I also need a way of moving sent items to another folder. I would like any
mails I send FROM a generic account moving to that account's sent items
folder, instead of my own.
I am using Outlook 2007 on Exchange 2007.

You want to move sent mail to a different folder? Are you using an after
sending rule?

You have tried Tools-Rules and Alerts-New-Check messages after sending as a
start?

Hi Gordon, yes I have tried that. It gives lots of criteria but they all
seem to relate to who you're sending the message TO or the content of the
mail - I need criteria for who I am sending the mail FROM, e.g.
if I send a message AS customer services, then move the sent item to a folder

The From field doesn't seem to be able to be used for a rule, which I find
strange.

Thanks

Tools-Rules and Alerts-New Rule-Check messages on sending-next. The second
option down is "through the specified account".

That just gives me an option for Microsoft Exchange. I think that would work
if I was distinguishing between an exchange account and a POP3 account, but I
want to distinguish between 2 separate exchange accounts.

Thanks

I may be wrong, but I don't think you can do this on the client. Have you
tried doing this on the Server?
