Rules Copies but doesn't MOVE

I have a multitude of rules set up in Outlook 2003 - all are set to MOVE the
message, but what is happening is that the rules will COPY my messages and
leave the original in the INBOX. This is extremely annoying as I must now
touch each email twice which defeats the purpose of rules in the first place
doesn't it? Thanks.

Make sure your rules are sorted correctly and use the action "stop
processing rules" accourdingly.

Otherwise when more than one rule applies to a message both rules will be
executed.

Thanks for your time answering my question.

I do have the "don't process more rules" turned on, and everything works
fine when Outlook is open and actively processing rules. I continue however
to have this problem when I open Outlook say in the morning and its
processing 60 some odd messages. It leaves unread copies of them in my
INBOX.

thx
