rules and alerts

i am not able to run the rules and alerts from outlook 2003. when i try it is
giving a message as " you are currently working offilne. to use this command,
you must go online and connect to the Microsoft Exchange Server"

please let me know what should i do?

You must have accidently pressed the "work offline" button. In outlook, go to
file and click it again. There should be a checkmark right by "work offline,"
you dont want the checkmark to be there.
