Rules and alerts

I have tried many times to set up my rules and alerts, but they never work
just as I plan. I have a couple questions....

1) Is there a program/download that compliments Outlook 2003 rules and
alerts? A program that perhaps will "plug some of the holes"?
2) Is there a way to "white list" sender email so it is not filtered as
junk?
3) Do you have any other helpful tips and tricks for rules and alerts?

3) Google is your friend. Both this group and various web sites are full of tips and tricks gleaned from other people's experiences. Or you could just ask the specific rules questions that you're probably dying to ask.
