Rule to display Mail Alert with Hotmail doesn't work?

Outlook 2007, with Outlook Connector.
I've set up a Rule to get a Desktop Alert when mail is received through my
Hotmail account in Outlook Connector. Doesn't work. Nothing appears. Do
rules not work with Hotmail via Outlook Connector?
 
Correct. Rules do not apply to HTTP account types.
You can get an Desktop Alert for Hotmail only when you have the Hotmail
account store set as your default delivery location and when a message is
being received in the Inbox.

I have Outlook 2003, but this is how I got it to work. Go to tools and click on Email Accounts, then click on "View or change existing email accounts." Click next. There should be a drop down menu. Right above it should read "Deliver new e-mail to the following location." From the drop down menu select your actual email address (the default is set to Personal Folders.) Click finish, restart Outlook and it should work. Its a very nice feature!
