Rule to categorise not working

I have set up a rule to move certain temporary mail items (eg notifications
from Facebook, eBay etc) to a folder and also to assign a "to be deleted"
category.

When the mail comes in, it gets moved to the folder correctly, but doesn't
get categorised. However if I run the rule manually later, it works fine.

Can anyone advise about this please.

Is it a single rule or two seperate rules?

What's the exact wording on the rule itself?

One rule:

Apply this rule after the message arrives
With "Ebay" or "Amazon" or .......... (etc too long to list) in the sender's
address
Assign it to the "To be deleted later" category
And move it to the "_"For Deletion" Folder

If you scroll through the rules, might there be a rule *below* this one that
removes categories from email? 2007 puts one in by default, and if it's
*after* your rule, then it'd remove the category you just set.

You'd want to either disable the remove categories rule, move it to be
first, or add 'Stop processing more rules' to your rule.

That's fixed it! Moved the "remove categories" rule to the top. Thanks very
much for your help.
