Outlook 2007 - My rules do not work to categorise incoming mail?

Hi all :)
I have rules setup to colour categorise incoming mail. The thing is they do
not do this when my mail arrives in the inbox.
How do i get Outlook 2007 to automatically categorise my mail?
If i run my rules manually then all my mail is coloured, but for some reason
after a send/receive, Outlook will not do this automatically.
Help please, thank you :)
