RTM & Windows Mobile 5 Phone

I have a Motorola Q phone that I was using just fine with RC1 and RC2 with
the Mobile Device Center. Under RTM it says it has installed the 'drivers'
with no problems, but when I look in the sync center it isn't there so I
can't sync it with outlook 2007. What's up? Anyone?

I could be wrong, but the drivers it tends to install ok are modem
drivers, not drivers which connect the phone to Windows.

I cannot sync my Audiovox 6700 either. Seems like all WM5 devices have
issues. Any solid answers out there?

Daron,

As per my posting, I have already downloaded and installed the WMDC with no
success.

Daron,

I apologize, I thought I had mentioned that I had done this but apparently
didn't. Anyway, I did install WMDC but that isn't helping.

I'd try a remove and reinstall, I had to do that twice for RC2.

I tried the remove & reinstall with no change ... I can get my device to
connect through bluetooth & WMDC sees that the device is connected but I only
get the little popup box asking me to allow USB connections and Bluetooth
connects ... no full WMDC with sync options ...

When connected I can browse the device and files on the SD card but that is
the extent of my connectabilty

Do you have a fire wall that may be getting in the way? If not then try
running WMDC directly.

Only firewall is innate firewall ... checked settings ... all activesync
connections allowed (upgraded laptop from XPsp2 to Ultimate RTM) and made
sure anything that said mobile device was also allowed in firewall ... unable
to disable as GP is controlling the firewall on our domain.

I believe I found MY issue ... Was trying to fly before driving to the
airport.

I've been playing with WMDC & Sync Center and Bluetooth ... left my cradle
at work ... I had connectivity between WM5 device and laptop on bluetooth but
couldn't get WMDC to launch ...

Once I cradled the device WMDC came up and partnered with the device ...
Once that was done I was able to undock and connect through bluetooth ... AND
SYNC ... folders mobile favs & one note are all syncing across bluetooth.

Indeed I should have thought of that, for the first pairing it has to be a
physical dock to complete the pair, once that is done you can then sync
later using Bluetooth.

It won't even install. I have downloaded and tried installing it 6 times and
still no WMDC in my control panel. I ask the same question as countless
others.. why is this such a LOW priority update for MS?

Once installed you may need to run it manually the first time from the
\Windows\MobileDevices (from memory) folder.
