rsabase.dll

can anyone help me? I recently ran a spy catcher on my PC and it deleted a
number of files. Office Assistant has now stopped working and I can't find a
way to reinstall successfully ... also Turbo Lister for eBay has stopped
working and the error log says the rsabase.dll is missing. How can I
reinstall or download this missing file?

For Office, go to Add/Remove Programs and click on the button for MS
Office. You should get an option to Repair. If that doesn't work,
uninstall/reinstall Office. For Turbo Lister, uninstall/reinstall.

Tried this for both and still no joy ... do you happen to know from where
(eg Office, XP, etc) this rsabase.dll file may have originally been
installed from ?

Look in the OS distribition files. I found v5.0.2195.6619 in the i386 folder for my Win2K
(and has been slip-streamed to SP4).

It was also found in; %windir%\ServicePackFiles\i386\rsabase.dll

and the OS running copy in; %windir%\system32\RSABASE.DLL

Look in your %windir%\ServicePackFiles\i386 folder and if it is there, copy it to;
%windir%\system32

You may also try to run the System File Checker (SFC.EXE)

rsabase.dll comes with Microsoft Office 2000 Professional Edition.
rsabase.dll is Microsoft Base Cryptographic Provider (Export Version).
Package: IE_S3.CAB\IE_3.CAB
File Path: \Disk1\IE5\EN

rsabase.dll comes with a lot of other Microsoft software also.

rsabase.dll has nothing to do with the Office Assistant.

Note To turn on the Assistant at any time, click Show the Office Assistant
on the Help menu.

You can get the Assistant back by reinstalling Microsoft Office and choosing
to install the office Assistant.

Hide or show the Office Assistant

See Remove the Office Assistant, follow instructions until you get to #7 and
make sure that the Office Assistant is Available.

You may also try to run the System File Checker (SFC.EXE)

Thanks for the help ... I've done as suggested and rsabase.dll is back ...
but assistant and turbo still don't work ... there's obviously something
else wrong but I can't find out what ... I'll sleep on this one.
