RRAS comatability with firewall

I am setting up a RRAS server and my ISP has a NetBSD firewall that I am going through. Are there any known issues between these 2 softwares. All the appropriate ports are open and the VPN connection works nicely within the firewall.
Am I wasting my time??

If you are using PPTP, all routers/firewalls in the path must allow IP
protocol 47 (GRE). All the encrypted VPN data travels inside a packet with a
GRE header. If anything blocks GRE, no data is transferred and the
connection fails.
