"Rption" Is this a security risk?

We use Access for our database. On running particular queries the first
entry that appears is “Rption†in the main field plus other fields that
appear in Chinese type lettering. When we go into the Form and search for
“Rption†it comes up in the main field in the first entry and then over 20
seconds or so all the other fields gradually change into Chinese type
lettering. The database then freezes and has to be closed losing any changes
that have been made.

The “Rption†is not an entry in itself but only seems to appear in the main
field of the first entry when either a particular query is run or a search
carried out.

Has anyone else come across this problem and could it be a security risk?

It sounds to me as if your database has become corrupted. What about
importing all the objects into a new database, & see if that fixes it?
