rpc virus

I am trying to download the patch for the virus.
Everytime I do I get an error message to be sure my
cryptographic is running? I can not down load the
patch. Please help.

Reboot, login to an Administrator account.
Double click My Computer.
Double click C drive.
Double click Windows file.
Double click System32 file.
Right click catroot2, click rename, type "catroot2old"
ENTER

I tried both of those, and nothing worked. Kept getting
the same message...

The message is: Service Pack 1 Setup could not verify the
integrity of the file. Make sure the Cryptographic
service is running on this computer

I go to see if its running, and it is.

I get this message after I go past the user agreement, I
believe. Its the only thing preventing me from
downloading the patch..

Actually, scratch that. The message is: "Setup could not
verify the integrity of the file Update .inf. Make sure
the Cryptographic service is running on this computer"
