RPC server unavailble

I am using two PCs to conduct the "Audio Power Management
(Lullaby) test" for an audio adaptor driver. One PC is
used as test system and the other as remote. Both are
placed in a network domain and the user given the
administrator permission.

However, as I tried to set up the test with the HCT on the
test platform, the following error appeared:

Connection failed to remote server.Eerror code: the RPC
server is unavailable (0x800706BA).

I would like to seek help from experienced people to solve
the problem.

Thanks a lot.

"RPC Server unavailable" errors can often occur when networking credentials
between systems do not match identically. This could be something as simple
as one machine not having the same admin password, as the other.... *or*
possibly you're not logging into both machines on the user account with
admin privileges....or with different user names and passwords on the user
account. It's hard to say.

You might try removing both machines from the domain, plugging both of them
into a network hub and seeing if the setup wizard will then allow your
machine to communicate, in a more enclosed network environment.

It is not absolutely necessary to be logged into the domain, in order to
sync the two machines....it has just been the most reliable method of
achieving the sync.
