RPC over HTTP Outlook Issue

Dears,
This is the 2nd time I post this and no reply ?? We have outlook that is
functioning in RPC over HTTP everywhere however; in one of our sites when hte
outlook client connects to the Exchange through the LAN it displays " waiting
to update this folder" for more than 30 minutes. The mailbox store is at the
same site and the OAB V 4.0 has a replica there. any idea ???

Start Outlook 2003. Hold down the CTRL key and then click on the Outlook
icon in the system tray (area where the clock is). Pick connection status.
Hopefully one of the two tabs will give a clue as what activity is trying to
transpire.

Yes Neto .. thank you that gave em a great hint ! it's tryign to contact the
servers through the organization at other locations one by one ( conencting )
for public folders ... what could be the problem ?

Best guess might be a public referral problem. Start ESM. Go to the user
mailbox server in question. Right click on it and go to the Public Folder
Referrals tab. By default it is set to use routing groups. If all servers
are in the same routing group, you found the issue.

At this point you could switch to custom and list the servers holding a PF
replica you want the users to connect to(1). This should solve the problem
in organizational structures where there are internal firewall stopping
specific types of traffic from traversing the LAN/WAN topology.

(1) Remember, the server(s) in question should contain an entire replica of
both visible and system folders (OAB/FreeBusy).

The backend server contains a copy of the OAB, OABV4 and Free Buzy and it is
on the same subnet of the front end server. the clients can access the front
end server with HTTP and HTTPS. I still can't figure why the outlook clients
querries other servers. what could be the problem ? I tried to configure
Public Folder Referral to a server in anotehr site and still it didn't work.
It's not even able to update the Address book and this is happening wonly
when outlook is working in cached mode. ?? any idea ??
