I'm cross-posting this to the same groups but set the same followup.

BTW, I saw this posted to the DShield mailing list. DShield is a free
aggregation and reporting service for firewall results. Subscribers run
utilities to regularly mail their firewall logs to the database for
aggregate analysis. The mailing list is an excellent source of security
news and alerts of strange Internet activity. http://www.dshield.org/

I may add ... if you can run a sniffer, just follow the instructions here
http://www.linuxjournal.com/article.php?sid=6985 to build the cable
and setup your sniffer as shown, this way you'll be able to capture
all the traffic "in the wild" (snort is ok but ethereal or other sniffers
running on win32 will be ok as well)
