Roxio Easy CD Creator 5.3.5.10 + WIN XP PRO Freeze

I have spent countless hours over many days trying to fix
this problem. There is some info somewhere out there, but
I can't remember where I saw it. I have:
Athlon 700 mhz, 20 gig, 128 ram, WIN XP Pro, loaded Roxio
Easy CD Creator v.5.2, upgraded (as necessary) to
v.5.3.5.10, even downloaded new drivers. Did all reboots,
have tried 25 times+ to make music cd, no luck. I've tried
both speeds (4x and 8x), test only/test and record/record
only, new blank cd's, Disk at once is always selected,
different songs, etc. Nothing works. Here is what happens:
The progress bar goes to 100% quickly on Table of
Contents, but the Disk Progress bar shows testing phase
from anywhere from 3 to 13%, freezing when the testing
phase is done. The little record in the upper left is
spinning and there it sits forever. When I try and click
Cancel, it warns that the CD may be damaged, I click OK
and it grays out, does not stop spinning, and there are no
choices. I hit CNTRL+ALT+DLT and shut down the program.
Then I can't eject the CD, and can't shutdown the computer
with the start button. It just ignores it. I have to use
the big button on the front of the CPU (if I try and
restart Easy CD Creator without shutting down, I get a
small Roxio window, saying "initializing engine" forever.
AFter finally getting computer to shut down, restarting
it, I can then eject the blank disk. Please help.

Chris,
I went to the link below, but I've been there before and
don't see anything like my problem. Did you see something
I missed? Any ideas? Thank you.

It's Roxio Support. you need to contact them about your problems.
Microsoft and many people in here can provide little support.
