Hi guys ...

I wonder if you could help me .. I have 2 network hubs 1
is a Modem/Hub/Router 10/100 ... hte other is a standard
hub that is only 10mpbs ... I want to get the 2 to work
together ... the router has only 4 newtork slots and I
have run out of them ... I have 2 servers .. one with 2000
Server and one with 2000 Advanced Server ... How can I get
the 2 hubs to work together in this network .. there are
another 3 PC's to connect also!

thanks

You should be able to plug the hub into one of the 10\100
ports on the router. All of the systems on the hub will
share a collision domain but with so few systems connected
to it you won't notice any degradation. Since the two
devices are alike devices you will need to use a cross
over cable.

Both the router and hub allow you to use straight through
cables to allow PCs to talk to each other. In order to do
this they cross the cables so that two PCs can talk to
each other. Since both devices would be expecting straight
through cables and would cross the cables a PC connected
to the HUB and a devices connected to the router would not
be able to commucate if you didn't use a cross over cable
between the two devices.
