Routes added with "netsh" are not displayed in the "route print" output

Yes, it´s a W2K box.

Well, I managed to add the route with route.exe, though it was a bit
tricky, because the IF-parameter does not accept just the 2, but it
needed IF 0x1000002.

But helas! the next problem:

The connection is fine when it comes up the first time after booting
the PC. When it is disconnected and initiated again, the routing does
not work anymore.

The modems connect, but data is not transferred.

Only if I delete the route (which is still shown in the "route print"
output list as a persistent route) and add it again, data is
transferred again.

Each time the link is disconnected and established again, routing does
not work anymore.

Can anybody help?

Mathias...

I suspect the problem is that it is not a "real" interface you assign
the route to. When you reconnect, it is a "new" interface, not the one you
were using before.

Similar to the problem where you create a new machine and give it the
same name as an old one. Many things just don't work!
