Router Keeps Dialing

Hi, We have a small LAN in our office with a ISDN Router
connected. All has been working fine until we updated
three machines which have XP via the Windows Update
site. Since this time the router keeps dialling out. We
drop the line and ensure that all machines are sat at the
windows desktop and the ISDN line comes up after a couple
of minutes.

If I switch these three XP machines off and leave our
windows 98SE machines connected then there isn't a
problem.

As soon as we bring up any of the XP machines the line
comes up and stays up.

I've checked that the XP time sync settings are switched
off and also that XP Windows Update does'nt do an
automatic dialup.

I have also scanned all machines with the lastet virus
checker but no viruses have been found.

As stated this all started since we updated the machines
via the microsoft windows update site.

Any one have any suggestions or tools which may be able
to help. I have downloaded a free packet sniffer but
after hours of watching packet after packet I still can't
find the problem.

Thanks I Advance

Put a software firewall (such as Outpost or ZoneAlarm) on the XP machines.
Not only will they give you the option of blocking the outgoing connection
but will tell you which service or application is requesting it.
