Router Issues

Using XP with a Belkin router. With Win98se the router
connection would shut all the way down when you turned
the system off.
With XP the connection is live, but not active.
Is there a setting in XP to turn off the connection when
the system is shut down?

Can you be more specific as to what router connection you
mean, and how you're determining this? (by the light on
the router, by the light on the computer, how?)

Yes by the light on the router port. All the rest of the
prot lights turn completly off, The PC that has XP stays
on
