Doh!! I knew this wasn't going to be easy....what did I doooooooo!!

The new system is put together, cables are connected,...now I'm just trying
to get video from my NVIDIA 7800GT so I can at least get into the BIOS or a
DOS prompt. My monitor simply will not detect a video signal.

I have dual 7800's (SLI) but I only have one card installed right now to
troubleshoot (FYI...I've swapped them out, too). I made sure the card is
plugged into the blue PCI-E slot per the ASUS mobo manual, the PCI-E power
connector is connected and I have my monitor plugged in.

When I power up the PC, the case, VGA, and CPU fans start up and I can hear
the hard drives spinning. I also don't get any BIOS beeps.... I just don't
get any video.

Is there anything I am missing? Shouldn't I be able to "some" signal through
my video card. Even if there were problems?

Help!!

Make sure monitor works :)
U said hard driveS - hook only one up to non-raid SATA or IDE only, or
dont hook any HD up (yet) it will post without
Check ur IDE / floppy cables make sure not backwards.
Re -seat ur memory module. Try using only ONE dimm for now.
Make sure CPU is fully seated.
Make sure the Vid card is in the correct PCI-E slot for non SLI and
fully seated
Make sure speaker is connected right.
Boot up and see if memory counts down

If there is onboard video, make sure it's disabled.

Thanks Crush!

LOL.....well, I'm a little embarrassed to say what was wrong but, maybe
others can learn by my mistakes. I know I am.

I never connected the 4-Pin power connector to the motherboard (only the
24-pin). It booted to BIOS fine now.

Back to work......I'm sure I'll be back later.

Don't feel bad. Did the same thing with my son's computer. Spent a whole
weekend talking to myself and the dog. I maintain I didn't do anything
wrong. I blame it on a bad translation from Mandarin into Cantonese into
English in the process of writng set-up manual.
