rotated laptop screen

HI folks,

My wife this morning presented me with her laptop (not a tablet) with a
normal-looking screen rotated 90 degrees counter-clockwise (the top of her
windows) was to the left sift of the screen.....

I don't know what caused it (she says the cat walked across her keyboard)
BUT more importantly, I don't know how to fix it...

Any ideas??

Thanks,
john

Video Card advanced settings.

Try :
CTRL+ALT+UP ARROW

If that does not work...
CTRL+SHIFT+R

If that does not work - look through the advanced settings of your display
properties (Control panel.)

The video card probably has it's own control panel...
if it's not in the task bar, right click on your desktop

and look the the properties for your video card, there should be an
adjustment
to rotate it back....

those cats, those cats...

My cat never did anything quite that bad yet...
but she keeps trying

yeah, the cat is always
the blame but never the
mouse.

if it happened to be an
issue resulting by a key
combination, then the
answer to correct it will
likely be found in your
owners manual or the
laptops homesite.

however, what you can
also try is to locate the
software that is controlling
your graphics.

look for an graphics or
display icon near the clock
or in control panel.

then if you right click on it
you may find the tab that
controls the rotation of the
display.

The ability to rotate the screen image is a feature of your video
card, to help it work with monitors that rotate to portrait
orientation. The cat accidentally pressed Ctrl-Alt, and some arrow
key. Rotate it back using those keys.

Sorry for the poor attempt at humor
but I'm not so sure it was an accident ...
I think cats do stuff like that on purpose!
