rootkits

Does MS Antispyware do anything about rootkits, it
doesn't seem to.

maybe adding a feature such as black light to the program
would help:

also when a scheduled scan is run, can the user make the
program automatically remove the spyware once the scan is
finished?

On the scan question, look at the options offered when setting up a
scheduled scan.

Microsoft Antispyware is not an antivirus.

Microsoft Antispyware does remove some spyware which has root-kit
characteristics. Microsoft is well aware of this issue and I'm sure more
such detections will be added.

Blacklight is a good thing, as is Sysinternals RootkitRevealer.

nope, but it would be nice if we have the option to
automatically remove spyware on scan.
