Romaing profiles and .ost files

Hi,

First I'll explain the situation a bit...
We have one site (center) where an Exhange server is located. Sixteen other
sites are connected trough a WAN with limited bandwith. The Exchange server
on the center site is the only Exchange server for all sites.
We want users to be able to roam and therefore are using roaming profiles.

Now I would like to use .ost files so that users don't need to go over the
network to connect to the Exhange server. Adding the .ost file to the roaming
profile would not help since this .ost file would be copied over the (slow)
network every time the profile is loaded.
Keeping the .ost file local is not an option since people roam very often
need access to their mail without connecting to the Exchange server.
Therefore I thought of keeping all .ost files on a network share and adjust
the profiles of the users to point to this location. (not supported by MS as
read in the resource kit)

On top of this I would like to install Outlook 2003 with the use of the .msi
and a transform file (.mst) with the location for the .ost file defined.
It seems inpossible to do this since the mail profile contains user specific
settings (like Exchange account) that need to be filled in dynamically...

Does anyone have any experience with a simular situation or some advice?

Thx in advance,
Peetski.

Never mind my not about defining the location of .ost files... I've found how
to do this...
