Rom Drives

My drives work fine loading winxp home edition, however
when system boots to start windows they won't load any
sotware i.e. will not detect .exe files and allsorts of
messages show on screen, can anyone help.
 
Why when you are booting up your computer are you trying to load software
from a cd...?
