Does anyone know if the Hotfix Rollout 1 includes the patch protection
against the Blaster Worm virus?

Hi Darkrats
Update Rollup 1 for Microsoft Windows XP (KB826939) does contain protection
against blaster.

Mark

Much thanks for the information!

have OEM winXP and update every week.
when was KB826939 released?
it is not on my update list.
should i still download/install KB826939 ?
was it included in some other update?

Hi Anonymous
It was released on the 14th of October, if you've been regularly updating
your system you probably already have it installed as it was in the critical
updates section of Windows Update. Open you add/remove programs dialog and
see if you have 'Windows XP Hotfix - KB826939'

A full list of the updates included in 826939 and a manual installer can be
found at
http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=826939

I've done all the updates but do not have KP826939, or at least I can't find
it in a search of the Hotfixes on Add/Remove Programs. What have I missed?
An "update search" by Microsoft on their Update webpage says I have all the
critical updates. I am using XP Home. Oh yes, also I have Norton's Antivirus
and Firewall and use Sypbot and Adaware.

I'm puzzled and a bit afraid to just add this from the webpage mentioned
above.

Thanks.

The Update Rollup 826939 will only appear on the Windows Update website if
you are missing any of the updates included in this package. If you have
been keeping your system up to date on a regular basis, then you have all of
these Hotfixes and you do not need to install this package.
