I want to know how other companies rollout windows security updates to
employees that have laptops out in the field that are setup with 'user'
rights only? I have a large sales force that I cannot give administrative
rights to but i want to keep their laptops current with security updates.
Any information would be helpful!

Thank you!!

Do they have any connectivity to your network at all, even over VPN?
Have you looked into WSUS?

If the computers are configured to use automatic updates then they do not
need to be local administrators. The downside is that all security updates
available at Windows Updates will be installed if that is a problem. When
using WSUS you can approve what updates will be downloaded and installed. If
you are interested in WSUS you may also want to post in the newsgroup for it
and ask about how it could work for your situation. Update policy for
computers can be configured via Group Policy.
