roll paper feed and printing

Does anyone know of a hack or softwear to enable me to print on roll
paper???

I am wanting to print long banners and pictures on a roll of paper instead
of having to tile print and then glue individual pages to form a long page.

I have 10 meter long rolls of photo paper, the width of one suits A4
printers and the other is suitable for A3 width printers.

The printers I use are the Canon IP5000, Canon S4500 (A3) and the Epson R230
fitted with a continuous ink system.

TIA
Grant.

You can buy an Epson printer that has a roll feeder built in. Not sure
but think the 2880 can do that. You can also look at the Epson 4880 or
the Canon IPF5100.

For the Epson model... How long does your banner need to be, what OS are
you using, and what print software do you use?

In general, the Epson will print banners up to about 40" long, if that
is long enough. You need to set the custom paper size in the driver to
that length.

It's been a loong time, but I remember threads back when I originally was
using a 1270 and paper limitation sizes. One real issue was if printing
from Photoshop. IIRC, there was also ~128" length limit in the Epson print
driver as well (W2k). As I look at the driver for my R800 (XP64), it shows
limits for User Defined page sizes of 3.5-8.5" by 3.5-129.0" I remember the
PS folks could not print to the allowed page limit sizes, where in Qimage
or PSP7 or 8 I could at the time.

I am using win xp, the software is ms publisher 2007 and elements 3.

I would like to print pagrs up to 2.5 to 3 meters, 8 to 10 feet long and I
want to print my art and photos in a continuous length rather than cut and
joined.

At the moment on the epson r230 and canon ip5000 the maximum size I can
print is a4 panorama size which is about 600mm or about 24 inchs long, so it
cuts the number of sheets I have to tile and crop to make a banner but the
joints are not as good a job as one continuous roll sheet.

Shows the max paper length to be 44" for the R220, which I believe is
the equivalent model in the US.

hi me@,
yes, i use the 44 inch length limit on the r230, i would like to get an
epson 1800 or 1900 or 2400... these are all a3 and handle roll paper but
they are around a grand to buy and i dont really need roll feed at that
price.
i see you have the epson 800, have you used the roll feed? do you like the
printer?
i use a continuous ink system on the canon and the r230, its a dye ink and
its really good, have you tried it on your printer with pigment inks?
