Rogue future date field highlighting

Within the query my form is based on I have a date field called Date Adopted.
I have then added a number of expressions that calculate 14, 28, 43 and 56
days from the date in Date Added. An example expression is: Expr1: [Date
Adopted]+14. On my form I have added new text boxes for the expressions in my
query. My problem is that if the expression fields match today's or a future
date the field is highlighted green with red writing. I don't want this to
happen - I just want it to be normal and unhighlighted (black on white). How
can I stop it from highlighting future dates? Anyone got any ideas? I'd very
much appreciate it.

Highlight the field and look up conditional formatting. It is in one of the
menus.

Thank you scubadiver, much appreciated.
