Roaming user and multiple ISPs: choosing the right SMTP server

Federico

Hello,
my father is a "roaming user" and typically uses at least two ISPs,
which force him to use their own SMTP server.
I've set up two accounts with the same POP server but different SMTP
servers, however I found that this confuses him (he's not very savvy).
Is there a way to configure ONE Outlook account to use multiple SMTP
servers and try them in order?
Is there any other workaround?

Thanks,
Federico

An easier thing to do is to see if one of the ISPs allows for authenticated
SMTP service. My cable ISP allows me to use their SMTP server while off-net
with a different port & a login/password combo

The problem is that one ISP blocks any outgoing traffic on port 25,
except of course their own SMTP server, so I don't think I could reach
the other SMTP servers from that ISP.

Hmmm... my ISP allows access via port 587 for authenticated SMTP. You might
want to double check just to be sure you don't have that option.
