roaming profiles

I've set up roaming profiles on a win2003 server network
with a mix of clients. I've mostly been working with my
new XP machines. The profiles work when the client is set
up as part of a workgroup. When I join the servers
domain however, it doesn't find the profile. this is
backwards, is it not? Anyone have a suggestion as to
what to look for?
Thanks
Dave

And you're logging on to the domain (not the local workstation) and in ADUC
have set the profile path for that user?

Thanks, I had set the profile path on the local machine,
but not the ADUC. Having fixed that I now get my profile
on the client. Everything, that is, except for my
netscape icons. Is there an explanation for this that
doesn't involve nefarious microsoft behavior? ;)

I've got another problem with the profile, if you can
help. My profile includes my stored email, amounting to
a huge size. Can I leave some or all of the application
data behind when the profile roams?

Re Netscape icons - do you see them at all? If not, can you copy them from
the old profile directory (c:\documents & settings) if you take ownership of
it - or can you recreate them?
Re your mail - what client are you using, and what kind of mail account?

Netscape mystery solved. The main netscape icons are in
the all users folder. The application icon (also
netscape), is only a URL reference. I've only installed
netscape on my personal machine, so the other computers
are turning it into an IE icon.
Re the mail: I'm using netscape. The mail is stored
under application data\mozilla\profiles\etc...\mail.
POP.mail.server/ SMTP outgoing. I don't find any way to
relocate incoming mail using netscape, and I don't know
if this can be done by redirecting (which I haven't used
but have a couple of KB articles on) without causing
operating problems. Any advice you have would be
terrific.
thanks,
Dave
