Roaming Profiles

Hi All,

I'm running win2k and active directory with three OU's.
One OU in the UK, One OU in the US and One OU in Sydney.

Here's my problem: When a user travles to another office
and logs onto the domain, it takes about 15 to 20 minutes
to load their profile.

Keep in mind that the Global Catalog for each OU, is not
sync its database due to wan bandwith. Could this be the
source of my problem. If so, is there a workaround for
this.

Thanks.

Windows 2000 Active Directory must replicate the active directory information across the domain. If you are not permitting syncronization, then each time a user logs on to the domain, the profile must be completely reloaded again.

You may benifit to having a couple of Domain Controllers per location. This may help with authentication because a copy of the profile would be kept locally on the 2nd DC.
