After reading Vista's "Managing Roaming User Data Deployment Guide"
(http://download.microsoft.com/downl...naging Roaming User Data Deployment Guide.doc)
I thought I understood what I needed to do. But it's not working the way I
thought. I now have the sneaking suspicion that you can deploy one (roaming
profiles) or the other (folder redirection) but not both! Can someone please
confirm?
Here's what I tried to do (which, by the way, is what I want to do):
1. For folder redirection I set up a share called UserData.
2. For roaming profiles I set up a share called UserProfiles.
The idea should be obvious: Keep the profiles small to allow for fast logins
and put the documents (and everything else) on the server for backup.
But the result is that everything goes to UserProfiles.
What's up?
