roaming profile will not load

I have an issue with a windows xp computer that was shut down while the
profile was being copied back to the server. Now it seems like the security
settings are not right on the local machine, and it will not let me use the
roaming profile. It only happens on one machine that was reset as described.

Does anyone know of any tricks to get client computer back to normal without
reinstalling? I have tried registry tweaks and copying registry settings from
the machine that does load the profile. Could this be a SID problem?

Just don't know myself. Any help would be appreciated.

Log on as an administrative user, make sure the user doesn't have anything
in their profile they want to keep (documents on the desktop, favorites,
etc) - then blow their profile away (right-click My Computer, select
Properties, then the Advanced tab, then the Settings button under User
Profile) and have them log back onto the network. That should rebuild their
profile.

Thanks Richard,

I actually had to destroy both profiles (server and local) because the
server profile had possibly been corrupted too. I backed up the files in the
folders first though. It is working fine now. Thanks for all your help.
